The most wonderful time of the year approaches and we’re in full Christmas swing already! We held our annual Christmas Market in Bromsgrove on Friday 16th November and just like previous years it was a resounding success. We sold hand made gifts that were crafted by our talented students and staff. A grand total profit of around £300 was raised on the day!
On Tuesday the 10th of July we held our first ever Chadsgrove College Summer Fete! College/school staff, pupils, parents and friends were invited to come along and try their luck at some games or buy some of the many craft items that our talented students and staff have recently created. Creating collage responses to a University suffrage archive of photographs and posters. Our students work was featured in a gallery for part of ‘Project Treasure Tree’ which links the suffrage movement, with the right to vote and work, through a project on the women’s land army during WW1. We’ve been dabbling in special effects and movie making at the centre this week. Here’s a video of our talented students flying none other than the Millennium Falcon! I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
Our staff and students are in full Easter mode making all sorts of cute animals to sell. Bunnies, pigs, mice, chicks and rabbits are just a few of the critters we’re having fun making.
Tasty Treats Tuck Shop lived up to its name and definitely went down a treat with all of our customers. On sale we had tea loaf, banana bread, fruit mixes, & popcorn, all made by our staff and students. This enterprise project focused on teaching essential numeracy skills in order to turn a profit on the produce.Those profits then went towards helping the centre and even some wages for the students! Cuisine in a Cup is our new enterprise focus and aims to provide tasty meals from around the world… in a cup! We kicked off the first week with a choice of beef or vegetable stew, which was a massive hit with everyone who purchased a cup. Future weeks will offer choices including chilli, curry, stew, goulash, stifado & bolognaise.
