We use a range of technology to support our students to fully access the curriculum as independently as possible. We encourage students to use assistive technology such as switches, eyegaze and sound beams to empower them and enable them to better engage with the world around them. Assistive technology is a powerful tool for promoting independence and engaging young people in academic and social activities.
CET is a member of Natspec, the association for organisations providing specialist further education and training for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. TechAbility is a Natspec Assistive Technology support service working with colleges to improve standards of technology. We are proud that Ciara Porter is a TechAbility Assistive Technology champion, ensuring that students at Chadsgrove Specialist College benefit from access to the most up-to-date information and advice on how technology can improve educational outcomes.
